Welcome! I'm Melanie, a trauma survivor working everyday at finding the balance between trauma recovery, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and all the other parts of life that didn't used to have anything to do with this identity. My hope is that within these pages we can create a community that focuses on the importance of simply being present, for ourselves and for others. Life is so much more beautiful when you can show up - without pretense or camouflage - and walk the path with people who really see you. Being truly seen can be terrifying. Removing the mask or breaking down well-built emotional walls is to be vulnerable in a way that allows for absolute hurt and absolute love. It is not easy. It is not always pretty. It is never perfect.
I am certain that together we can help each other through the ups and downs of both the everyday and the life-altering, take your breath away, hold onto your hat moments. For my part, I promise to show up, with all my imperfections, and I invite you do the same. I spent a long time hiding, waiting for the day when I was 'better' to let others see the real me. No more. I can't say what exactly will find it's way onto these pages, but I can promise it will be authentically me, for better or worse. I hope each of you finds a safe place here to do the same. We can mend - our moments, our days, ourselves.
I am so delighted you are here.
